"Instead of being
Let's go Somewhere There"
It was with sadness that we heard of the death of Sun Ra this summer. Born
before the first world war, this African American musician led the Solar
Myth Arkestra for forty years. Sun Ra came from Saturn (a village in Georgia)
and promoted a heliocentric world view through his music. Devising his own
instruments, he has been a powerful influence in music for many years.
His music inspired such organisations as Outer Spaceways Incorporated to
develop the psychogeography of Essex in the mid-seventies. His music will
continue to be an inspiration to us all.
